Farm days

July is when we start filling the barn with hay, already thinking ahead to winter and ensuring our cows will be well fed. We bought a load of hay from a farmer in Michigan so we added 106 bales to the 100 we had leftover from last year. Also, we are hoping to start to bale our two hay fields by the end of the week. We are finally getting some well needed rain as we hadn’t had any rain for at least three weeks. It has been really hot 🥵 and humid, hopefully it cools down a bit and we get our hay window. Our silly labradoodle Gema was having fun jumping up on the hay wagon, she can leap at least four feet onto the hay. 😆
