Our New Rescue Puppy
We adopted a 6 month old Labradoodle puppy this week from the Chequamegon Humane Association. She was brought up North to Ashland on December 20, 2018 from Alabama where she was scheduled to be euthanized. I know how sad is that.
We wanted to give a shelter dog a home there are way to many dogs that need homes in this world. She popped up on Facebook and I immediately fell in love with her, I filled out an application but never thought we would end up being chosen to adopt her as there were many applications submitted. When we received the phone call that we could come and meet her and introduce her to our chocolate lab Yukon and take her home that day I could hardly believe it was real!!
We brought her home on Friday, she is the sweetest dog you could ever have. She fits right into our household. Our three kitties are having to adapt and she has a lot to learn, but she is a fast learner, Yukon is helping us train her to our yard and being a big brother showing her how a good dog behaves.
Our grandchildren came over yesterday to meet her and help pick out a name, after Lilly and Maddie took it to a vote, the name Honey was chosen for her. It is a fitting name for her sweet personality and her honey colored curly coat.
We will have to workout how to balance our show schedule with two dogs and may have to look into a dog sitter. However we will cross that bridge when we come to it, but for now we are enjoying her and everything she adds to our family!
